Story

Jigsaw is an electronic artist who enjoys exploring all sorts of different atmospheres-- from the natural to the industrial. They primarily make music out of old, abandoned equipment that survived The Great Merge. If it's unsalvageable, then they repurpose such materials as parts for future projects.

Everything comes from their mind, live recorded. It is then transmitted as stray signals for anyone who may be able to access them.

In addition, Jigsaw's physical form and aesthetics change quite often based on the atmospheres they create. If they are feeling more brash, then their form will reflect that-- same for other moods. Recently, they have been feeling more dreamy, strayed away from reality-- which is why this page is the way it is, at the moment.

Creation + Development

Jigsaw's design came together almost effortlessly, which can't be said for a lot of my other characters. I remember wanting to create a character that had many of my favourite elements at the time.

The name "Jigsaw" (which will most likely change as I continue developing my conlangs) came from the fact that their design is constantly shifting (scrambling puzzle peices) + sawtooth waves (for synthesizers).

For a while, I didn't really know what to do with them, which was the opposite problem for characters I had a solid concept and story for...but no design to speak of. Slowly, I have assembled together a loose story and meaning behind them.

Jigsaw represents my love for music and my ever-changing, chaotic taste (both in music and in aesthetics). I have a lot of fun drawing them and coming up with all sorts of different, alternative versions of their design.
